Award of Excellence 
The ASBOA Awards program has been developed by members of ASBOA to recognize individual members for their contributions of time, talent and commitment to the Association.
Individual members may be recognized for their leadership, commitment and contributions to the school business profession, to the membership of the Association and to the community.  These are individuals who go above and beyond the day-to-day requirements of their position and their profession.
 
Nominations must be supported by two (2) or more ASBOA members.   Help us recognize an outstanding member and nomination a colleague.
 
Nominations should be received no later than April 1st of the current year.  Presentations to the recipients will be made at the Annual Banquet each year.
FCSBO - Fellow Certified School Business Official Nomination
The ASBOA Executive may approve the nomination of a Certified School Business Official who has contributed outstanding service in the practice of school business administration to be registered as a Fellow Certified School Business Official.
 
  • Nominations are made by peers and must be supported by at least two Certified members
  • The FCSBO cannot be granted posthumously
  • The FCSBO cannot be granted after August 31st of the year in which the certified member retires.
To be eligible for nomination, the individual must:
 
  • be a Certified School Business Official in good standing
  • have served in a leadership capacity for the Association of School Business Officials of Alberta, either at the Zone or Provincial level; and
  • have been a regular member for a minimum of 10 years prior to the nomination for Fellow Certified School Business Official.
The nomination must demonstrate the following:
  • the member has contributed outstanding service in the practice of school administration in the Province of Alberta;
  • that the member has shown excellence in providing leadership in school business management
  • that the member has brought distinction to the profession and is a role model to others
A fellow certified school business official may use the title "Fellow Certified School Business Official" and the abbreviations "F.C.S.B.O." and "FCSBO" until such time as they retire from the practice of school business administration.

Life Member Nominations
Life Membership is an honour that may be bestowed on an individual member in recognition of distinguished service to the Association, upon retirement from the practice of school business administration.  Life memberships are not automatic upon the completion of a members career.
 
Each nomination must provide detailed information regarding the individuals activities and contributions to the Association and the profession, and be supported by 2 or more ASBOA members.
 
In addition the individual must meet the criteria as outlined in the Association Bylaws and School Business Officials Regulations (37/2004)
 
  • the individual must have been actively involved in the practice of school business administration for at least 10 years
  • the individual has rendered distinguished service to the Association
  • the individual is retired or has resigned from the practice of school business administration
An individual is eligible for nomination in the current year if their retirement/resignation date falls within the current membership year.
 
Award recipients will be notified prior to the conference and invited to attend the annual banquet for presentation and recognition.
