A CSBO Designation is the mark of a dedicated ASBOA PROFESSIONAL
CSBO is a "RIGHT TO TITLE" Professional Designation
A typical day of a School Business Official is filled with a multitude of activities from strategic leadership, finance, governance, risk management, human resources, information management, technology, facilities and transportation management and more. To be an effective professional in such a multi-disciplinary practice that supports student learning, it takes a special set of knowledge, skills and attributes.
ASBOA's designation of Certified School Business Official (CSBO) recognizes school business officials who demonstrate a combination of experience and education and who have the essential knowledge in the areas of practice in the profession of school business.
The titles of Certified School Business Official (CSBO) and Fellow Certified School Business Official (FCSBO) are protected under the School Business Officials Regulation, and the ASBOA bylaws.
A school business official does not have to be registered if they do not refer to themselves as a Certified School Business Official.
