9 P's in a Pod Webinar Series - Session 1

There's been an election - now what?

Length:        75 minutes
Presenter:  Tash Taylor, MBA, CEC, CRM, RPR

Great governance starts on day one.  The election marks a key point in time to reset, and whether trustees are new or returning, an effective onboarding process helps set the stage for a healthy and productive term ahead.   Along with the superintendent, the secretary-treasurer can play a vital role in building positive relationships and being a trusted resource for your Board.

This session offers an overview of practices and useful tips to help you get your Board off to a positive start post-election.  Legislative requirements, technical processes, and wise practices will be covered briefly, as well as the organizational board meeting, orientation, and challenging situations.

Participants will come away with knowledge to help ensure the Division’s fiduciary responsibilities are met with respect to the election, and tools and tips to support the early days of the Board’s term.
