If you work in Education in a leadership capacity the Introduction to Education Law course will provide individuals with a basic overview of Negligence, Administrative Procedural Fairness, examples of Criminal Law, and the rudiments of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms within the Canadian educational context.
This is a university level course with relative time and class preparation requirements.
We are very pleased to have our returning instructor Dr. J. Kent Donlevy, B.A., B.Ed., M.Ed., J.D., Ph.D. , Barrister & Solicitor, Werklund School of Education, University of Calgary.
Total class time is 20 hours + research, reading and presentation preparation.
All classes will be offered via the ZOOM platform and are NOT recorded.
The course is held on Fridays with 2026 class schedule below:
- Jan. 9: 10:00 am to 12:00 pm and 1:00 to 3:00 pm
- Jan. 16: 11:00 am to 1:00 pm
- Jan. 30: 11:00 am to 1:00 pm
- Feb 6: 11:00 am to 1:00 pm
- Feb 13: 11:00 am to 1:00 pm
- Feb 20: 10:00 to 12:00 pm and 1:00 to 3:00 pm
- Feb 27: Examination (oral) 30 min slots. 9:00 am to 3:00 pm
Course fee:
• Individual Member Registration: $900.00 + 5% GST
• Individual Non-Member Registration: $995.00 + 5% GST
