Centred on the theme “Sharing Our Truth,” the sixth Gathering will continue to relay the facts surrounding Indigenous Peoples’ history in Canada and invites all participants to commit to a personal pledge of reconciliation. Slated for March 14 to 16, 2022, at the Fantasyland Hotel in Edmonton, the Gathering welcomes keynote speakers Michael Redhead Champagne, JR Larose, and Crystal Martin-Lapenskie. Participants also will enjoy a popular New Blood production, “A Story of Reconciliation.” Charlene Bearhead will serve as this year’s witness to learning, and Elder Wilson Bearhead will oversee the cultural program and protocols. Delegates will receive a copy of a book from the series Siha Tooskin Knows, authored by Elder Wilson and Charlene Bearhead.
The 2022 First Nations, Métis & Inuit Education Gathering registration is now live. Logistical Tip: There will be three registration buttons available for you to choose: the full Gathering and the two options for the pre-conference.
