Foothills Academy Society is a Registered Charity which has a dual purpose: to offer a full-time School Program for students with Learning Disabilities, as well as a Community Services component to provide a wide-range of programs and services to support individuals with Learning Disabilities and associated disorders in the Calgary area.
Foothills Academy Society is looking for a Director of Business Management to work as a key part of our management team.  The successful individual will report to the Executive Co-Directors and be responsible for the overall financial management of the organization, including the budgeting, fundraising, financial reporting, bursary decisions, and risk management.  This role also involves oversight of an investment portfolio and financial forecasting.  The Director of Business Management also oversees the centralised agency supports, such as:  payroll; human resources; accounts management; information technology; and facility management.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Excellent communication, organization, decision-making, and time-management skills
  • A team player with a high degree of personal integrity
  • Ten or more years of experience in financial operations of a non-profit organization and/or school
  • Experience in a senior managerial role
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Business Administration, Accounting, or related field
  • A CPA designation would be an asset
  • Familiarity with Alberta Education reporting requirements would be an asset
 
COMPENSATION:  Salary and benefits package will be commensurate with the education and experience of the successful candidate.
 
START DATE:  August 1, 2020 (to allow for a one-month transition with the incumbent who is retiring on August 31, 2020)
