BUS GARAGE - BUS TECHNICIAN – FULL-TIME - REGULAR
 
Prairie Spirit School Division is the largest rural school division in Saskatchewan, with 11,000 students and 47 schools located in 28 communities surrounding the City of Saskatoon, and including three First Nations and nine Hutterian communities. Prairie Spirit has a dedicated team of professional and support staff serving pre-K to grade 12 students.
 
THE POSITION
 
A full-time, journey person heavy-duty or truck and transport technician is required to work as a Bus Technician located at our bus garage in Saskatoon. The successful candidate will be required to work 1.0 FTE or 40 hours per week, performing all aspects of bus maintenance and other duties as assigned. This is a CUPE position that begins August 1, 2018.
 
QUALIFICATIONS
 
The successful candidate will:
 
Have a Journeyperson Certificate in Truck and Transportation or in Heavy Duty Repair or are willing to obtain Truck and Transport Certificate through an Apprenticeship program;
 
Possess a Vehicle Safety Inspection Certificate; Possess a valid Class 5 Saskatchewan driver’s license;
 
Have the ability to work in a team-oriented setting;
 
Be well planned and well organized;
 
Be reliable;
 
Have relationship-building as the foundation of strong interpersonal and communication skills.
 
Have skill in the use of required tools and equipment, and in the repair and maintenance of buses and light-duty vehicles.
 
SALARY
 
The current salary for this CUPE position is $32.37 per hour. Yearly increments are based on the current CUPE collective agreement. Benefits including life insurance, accidental death and dismemberment, Long-term disability, dental care, vision care, a health plan and an employee family assistance plan are paid by the employer.
